👻 ServiceNow Ghost User Cleanup Accelerator

This Halloween season, we’re hunting down the real ghosts haunting your ServiceNow instance — inactive and orphaned accounts that block work, waste licenses, and create hidden risks.

Our accelerator will shine a light on them with clear KPIs and actionable lists, so you can exorcise the ghosts and keep your platform clean.  The accelerator identifies the following:

  • Find Inactive Users - Clears out any existing records in the TwoDD Inactive User table. It then looks in the sys_user table for active (Active=true) users that have not logged in for at least 90 days.  It catalogs these in table TwoDD Inactive User.
  • Find Orphaned Accounts - Clears out any existing records in the TwoDD Orphaned User table.  It then looks in the sys_user table for active (Active=true) users that have either a blank Manager field or where the Manager is not active (Active=false). These users are cataloged in the TwoDD Orphaned User table.
  • Find Stuck Tasks - Clears out any existing records in the TwoDD Stuck Task table.  It then looks through the task table and identifies active tasks that are assigned to users identified in the Find Inactive Users process, or that are assigned to users that are not active (Active=false). These are cataloged in the TwoDD Stuck Task table.
  • Find License Waste - Clears out any existing records in the TwoDD License Waste table.  It then uses a list of common paid license roles and compares those against the roles that are held by users identified in the Find Inactive Users process, or that are assigned to users that are not active (Active=false). These users are cataloged in the TwoDD License Waste table.

This accelerator covers the essentials. If you’re looking for something more tailored—custom rules, automated resolution, or expanded data checks—let’s talk (use the Contact link in the page header).

You can download this accelerator for free — or toss in what you think it’s worth. Every bit helps keep useful tools like this coming. If it saves you time or makes your day a little easier, consider supporting the work behind it. :-)
